As an institution of higher education, Al-Zaytoonah is committed to providing a healthy environment suitable for academic interaction between students and faculty, leading to academic excellence in teaching and research, and to the students’ acquisition of invaluable knowledge and skills needed for their future responsibilities in society . Its mission is based on the following major principles:

University Objectives

Al-Zaytoonah aims at serving the human community, in general, and the Arab community, especially the Jordanian, in particular, by all possible means. More specifically, Al-Zaytoonah aims at:

1. Providing students and faculty with opportunities to study and conduct research in various fields of knowledge.
2. Enhancing and encouraging scientific research, individual thinking, initiative, and teamwork, Motivating the sense of responsibility and patriotism among students and faculty.
3. Making use of technology and directing it towards the service of society.

5. Strengthening links with other Universities and Arab and international scientific societies.

Faculty of Engineering and Technology Objectives

1. To prepare highly qualified engineers who are capable of assuming professional careers and pursuing graduate studies.
2. To conduct scientific research to expand knowledge in the scientific and engineering fields, and to find engineering solutions to problems faced by society.
3. To provide continuing education and to disseminate engineering knowledge through conferences, short courses, workshops, consultation and seminars.
4. To promote regional and international cooperation with reputable universities throughout the world.

ABET Activities

Graduating project for senior engineering students based on ABET accreditation requirements

The faculty of Engineering and Technology has organized a seminar of the senior engineering students graduating projects. Professor Wejdan Abu-Elhaija, the vice president of scientific faculties and the dean of Engineering and Technology Faculty, and many of the faculty staff attended the seminar. This seminar has been  organized by Civil and Infrastructure engineering (CIE) department. Two faculty members of CIE department; Professor Subhi Bazlamit (The dean of scientific research and graduate studies) and Dr. Fawzi Gharagheer presented the seminar. Prof. Bazlamit and Dr. Gharagheer made a comprehensive presentation. They focused on the basics and mechanism on how to supervise the senior students in their graduating projects and how to evaluate their work based on ABET accreditation requirements. At the end, Prof. Bazlamit and Dr. Fawzi answered the questions of the audience.
