The Department of Basic Sciences Established at the Faculty of Science and Information Technology in 2013 and it includes (24) faculty members. The academic plan consists of (65) hours in the following areas: Information Technology, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. The Department provides the requirements of the university and the colleges, with a capacity of (643) students. There are 28 papers that had been published, by the academic staff of basic sciences department, in a peer reviewed international journals and conferences.​

To be distinguished in the development and advancement of experiences in software engineering and in the promotion of its utilization as an effective tool of human development in the knowledge community while applying the accreditation and quality standards.


Fulfilling the needs of the job market with qualified technical personnel and professionals who are capable of advancement and creativity in various disciplines of science and information technology, and directing the track of scientific research towards serving the local and regional community.

2 Rely on interaction, integration and specialization in building and preparing qualified and capable professionals in the fields of science and information technology.
3 Stimulate students and support them to learn, advance, research, produce, work as a team and contribute to the constructive interaction with society.
4 Encourage scientific research and support scientific and practical studies in various fields of science and information technology.
5 Employ and develop electronic learning, enhance educational tools and methods, regard educational resources and technology, and use the latest references and equipment.
6 Ensure optimal utilization of financial resources, and work on developing and enhancing them for the benefit of the Faculty’s current and future goals.
Establish a creative and integrated bond between the administrative and academic personnel to accomplish successful implementation of the Faculty’s educational process
