 1 Princess Sumaya University for Technology

Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), established in 1991, is a specialized, Non-governmental, Non-profit, Jordanian university, owned by the leading applied research center in Jordan, the Royal Scientific Society (RSS). PSUT’s area of specialization is IT, Communications and Electronics. As a nonprofit institution, PSUT embraces both the public and private sectors, but while akin to public universities in its mission, it is more aligned to the private sector in drive and spirit.

 2 Al-Zaytoonah University

Al-Zaytoonah University was established in 1993 after receiving its license and general accreditation by Decision No. 848 on March 6, 1993. Instruction began on September 6, 1993, and since then Al-Zaytoonah has witnessed considerable progress, at both the infrastructure and academic levels. It now includes six faculties, encompassing 19 undergraduate specializations and one graduate program. There are 300 faculty members of various ranks, and 80 teaching and research assistants and lab technicians.

 3 The Hashemite University

The Hashemite University, often abbreviated HU, is a state-supported university located in Zarqa, Jordan. The Hashemite University has a comprehensive campus with a total built-up area of 300,000 square metres (3,200,000 sq ft), designed in four phases. The fourth design phase was completed in 2005, exceeding 50,000 sqm. The university includes Faculties of Arts, Science, Educational Science, Supporting Medical Sciences Nursing College, Engineering, Literature and many others.

 4 Tafila Technical University

TTU is the first technical university and the 9th public university in Jordan. It is located in Tafila governorate, about 187 kilometers to the south of Amman. TTU was established following a royal decree on January 17th, 2005 to replace Tafila Applied University College (TAUC) known as Tafila Polytechnic in 1986. Then TAUC was attached to Al-Balqa’ Applied University in 1997.

 5 Mutah University

Mu’tah University is located in Karak Governorate in Jordan, it was founded on 22 March 1981 by Royal Decree, to be a national institution for military and civilian higher education. In the field of postgraduate studies, the University established a Ph.D. program in Arabic language and literature in addition to various master programs in Sciences, literature and Languages, Economics and Management, Geography, Electrical Engineering (Communications), Education, Law and Police Studies.

 6 Irbid National University

Irbid National University (abbreviated INU) is a university in Jordan. It was established in 1994. Located in the northern town of Irbid, it has a student body of roughly 6,000. Irbid National University is Jordanian University, located in the north of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a private university is recognized in recognition locally and globally. Certified by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan.

 7 University of Petra

The University of Petra (UOP), based in Amman, was established in 1992. The university offers a variety of programs at its five faculties. Arabic is used for teaching of humanities, and English is used as the teaching medium in most of the other disciplines. New students undergo English and IT assessment tests to specify their levels and are provided with intensive bridging courses if needed.

The American University of Madaba is a non-profit university located in Madaba, Jordan. It opened its doors in October 2011. The standards of teaching qualifications and experience satisfy the accreditation requirements of the Higher Education Accreditation Commission in Jordan and the accreditation standards of New England Association of Schools and Colleges in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States of America.

 9 Isra University

Al-Isra University (IU) is an institution of University education in Jordan. It is owned and funded by Al-Isra University Company. It has been licensed according to the degree of higher education council numbered 357 and dated 18/8/1989. The first academic year of bachelor’s program was October, 1991. IU lies on Queen Alyaa International Airport Road highway. IU awards bachelor’s degree in twenty two specialized fields and awards master’s degree in Law, SE, and Pharmacology.

 10 University of Alicante in Spain

The University of Alicante was created in October 1979 on the structure of the UNIVERSITY STUDIES CENTRE (CEU), which was started in 1968. Thus, Alicante recovered in this way its university studies centre that was suspended in 1834, when -after two centuries of existence- its precursor, the University of Orihuela was closed. The University of Orihuela was created by means of a Papal Bull in 1545 and had kept its doors open for two centuries (1610-1808).

The University of Bologna (Italian: Università di Bologna, UNIBO), founded in 1088, is the world’s oldest university, located in Bologna, Italy.[1] As of 2013 the University’s crest carries the motto Alma mater studiorum and the date A.D. 1088. The University has about 85,000 students in its 23 schools. It has branch centres in Imola, Ravenna, Forlì, Cesena and Rimini and a branch center abroad in Buenos Aires.

In 1985, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research was established and the Law of Higher Education No. (28) for the year 1985 was issued to set the goals of higher education.
