About :

The Business Intelligence (BI) Department was established at the Faculty of Business at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan in the 2024/2025 academic year, following the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education to rename the Management Information Systems (MIS) major to the new Business Intelligence (BI) major. This change reflects Al-Zaytoonah University’s commitment to keeping up with the latest advancements in information systems and data analytics, as well as its aim to integrate modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and business and data analytics, into its academic programs. Over the past two decades, Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Analytics have emerged as fundamental principles for businesses to ensure their competitiveness in the market. Unlike traditional business methods, successful organizations now rely on strategic approaches that incorporate advanced technologies to support data-driven decision-making, enhance sales, and expand opportunities. Many leading companies, such as Facebook, Google, and Alibaba, along with various other e-commerce platforms, utilize AI technologies and data processing to optimize their sales and marketing strategies. The Business Intelligence (BI) major covers several key areas, including: Data collection from multiple sources and storage in centralized data warehouses. Data analysis using advanced tools to identify patterns and predict future trends. Data visualization through interactive dashboards that facilitate decision-making. Big data processing using machine learning techniques for intelligent analysis. The career paths for Business Intelligence graduates include: Data Analyst: Collects and analyzes data to generate reports that support decision-making. Data Scientist: Develops predictive models using machine learning to forecast trends. Data Engineer: Designs robust infrastructure for efficient data processing. BI Developer: Creates Business Intelligence solutions to meet corporate needs.
