Fulfilling the needs of the job market with qualified technical personnel and professionals who are capable of advancement and creativity in various disciplines of science and information technology, and directing the track of scientific research towards serving the local and regional community.

Objectives : 

  • Implementation of the quality assurance standards in teaching and learning.

 

  • Effective contribution to the development of basic sciences courses to keep up with new technologies and to meet the requirements of the programs and the labor market.

 

  • Increasing the efficiency of faculty members through continuous training and development.

 

  • Enhancing and developing the technologies and concepts of electronic learning for 70% of the courses in the Department’s course plan in accordance with the standards of accreditation and quality assurance.

 

  • Continuously applying innovative teaching methods.

 

About the Department :

The Department of Basic Sciences was established at the Faculty of Science and Information Technology in 2013 and it includes (11) faculty members. The academic plan consists of (50) hours in the following areas: Information Technology, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology. The Department provides the requirements of the university and the colleges, with a capacity of (700) students. There are 66 papers that had been published, by the academic staff of the Basic Sciences Department, in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences.
