Welcome to the Department of Architecture

The department offers an undergraduate program leading to the Bachelor degree (B.Sc.) in architecture after successfully passing 165 credit hours.

The Department provides a comprehensive and holistic educational understanding of the relation between the building and surrounding environment. These dimensions are being considered in our definition of architectural education.

The fast developments in the architectural movements and building materials leads that architects should be designers as problem solvers to guide the Influx changes in the building materials, construction technologies, and bridge between all the diverse disciplines in building construction fields.

Accordingly we aim to educate and train architects and designers to be able to understand the building space as a machine. And with the technical skills to be able to address all the issues related to the architectural field and be able to meet the demands of a changing profession and architectural market.


Excellence in architectural education and applied contemporary design innovations according to international standards of quality in the field of architecture.


Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of architectural education to provide students with knowledge and experience to enable them to design architectural projects with emphasis on local and regional contemporary architectural styles.


1. Technical Knowledge – Provide a basic knowledge of architectural principles. Enhance the students’ abilities to express the visual and physical characteristics of architecture through academic curriculum that focuses on knowledge and personal innovation.
2. Communications Skills – Develop the ability to organize and present architectural design information effectively focusing on fields of knowledge that enable the students to present and express the architectural theory in practical applied designs.
3. Preparation for Further Study – Provide sufficient breadth and depth for successful subsequent graduate study, post-graduate study and lifelong learning programs.
4. Preparation for the Profession – Provide an appreciation for the broad spectrum of issues arising in professional practice through following the latest developments in all the fields of architectural practices.

 About The Department:

The Department was established in the Year 2011. The number of its teaching staff members is 7 instructors. The number of its enrolled students is 126. The number of research papers by the teaching staff members up to this date has reached 1 papers published in refereed international journals and 5 papers published in international, Arab, and local conferences. 

 The most important accomplishments of the Department are as follows:

    1. Updating the Department’s course plan and education resources to suit the Department’s vision for the education process.

    2. Encouraging teaching staff members to conduct scientific research and publish in refereed  scientific journals and international conferences.

    3. Organizing a number of curricular and extracurricular activities for the purpose of communicating and interacting with the community
