The Faculty of Architecture and Design at Al Zaytoonah University of Jordan is one of the distinctive additions to this outstanding scientific academic edifice. It seriously strives to prepare creative designers who can match originality and modernity, in addition to keeping updated with all technological developments.
The Faculty of Architecture and Design was established in 2017, it has two Departments: The Architecture Department, which was founded in the academic year 2011/2012, and The Graphic Design Department, which was founded in 2001/2002, in addition to The Multimedia Department, which was founded in 2018/2019.
Studying in this Faculty is based on the credit hour and classroom system. The Department of Architecture has a total of 165 credit hours. While the Graphic Design and Multimedia Departments have a total of 132 credit hours. The faculty currently awards a bachelor’s degree in these disciplines, and it is seeking to open a fourth Academic Program in Interior Design. To achieve excellence, the faculty has been interested in preparing study plans that are adapted to the conditions and changes of this age and the requirements of the labor market, to achieve its vision, mission, and goals, which are compatible with the university vision, mission and goals.
According to these practical programs, the University has devoted great attention to the required infrastructure and equipment in teaching the theoretical and practical requirements. The faculty benefits from the supporting teaching aids, where the University offers computerized and visual teaching for various academic courses, which were developed using advanced techniques and are constantly updated to achieve a high level of scientific accuracy to achieve the desired goals.
To enrich the students’ public and private experiences, the faculty encourages students to participate in local and international competitions.
The three Departments of this faculty are open to the local community, through scientific research and the students’ projects that are related to reality, which were geared to meet the needs and aspirations of the community. The faculty attracts distinguished academics for teaching its students and invites distinguished practitioners to give scientific lectures and to hold specialized scientific workshops. The faculty forms also arbitration committees from inside and outside the faculty; these committees consist of distinguished professionals and academicians to evaluate the academic projects of students to achieve greater openness to the local community and benefit from their abilities.
