The Department of Fashion Design was established for a bachelor’s degree at Al-Zaytoonah University in 2020-2021, as the university received its first group of students in the fashion design major, the first of its kind and the only major in Jordan. This major is based on the academic methodology of fashion design, which is scientifically and practically distinguished by the inspiration and creativity of its students in the field of fashion design is based on a comprehensive academic plan that qualifies the student for the labor market and community service with the latest technology skills and creative programs by providing laboratories equipped with the latest equipment and design programs for fashion design, ceremonies designated for creative workshops, and workshops equipped with all types of special machines for production. The goal of this specialization is to become familiar with the latest designs, trends, and international lines of production, develop technical and academic capabilities, provide the student with technological expertise, and enrich the CV that prepares him to enter the labor market due to the urgent need for this specialization.


About :

Due to the labor market’s need for qualified people in fashion design abilities and skills, such as fashion shows, various and diverse fashions, embroidery arts, sewing, knitting, and other fields of work, teaching of the bachelor’s program in fashion design began for students in the year 2020-2021 AD. The program is a natural extension of development and progress in the productive world, as the department is represented by two distinguished academics, numbering four teaching members specialized in the field of fashion design. The department includes more than sixty male and female students who interact by presenting innovative design works, scientific research and distinguished scientific production.

Achievements:
  • Establishing a permanent exhibition for the department that includes student works from the first year of study.

  • Developing the department’s workshops and laboratories with production machines and the latest computers

  • Initiate cultural exchange with local and international universities to display students’ works.
