Welcome to the Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan. Our program is dedicated to developing professional and creative engineers, offering Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees that combines rigorous academics with practical training and capstone projects. Since 2009, we have been committed to fostering innovation, research, and hands-on experience to meet the evolving demands of local and global markets. Our state-of-the-art laboratories and experienced faculty provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the civil engineering field. We invite you to explore our department and join us in shaping a better built environment.

About :

The department was established with the founding of the college in the year 2009, and its academic and research work is currently carried out by (11) fourteen faculty members, and around 100 male and female students are now studying there, and fourteen groups have graduated from it. The Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering offers a bachelor's degree program in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering and a master degree program in Engineering Management. The Civil and Infrastructure Engineering program is considered a unique program among Jordanian universities as it combines civil engineering and infrastructure. The department employs distinguished and highly qualified faculty members who hold academic degrees from prestigious universities from: the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Canada, and European and Asian universities. The program plan includes 160 credit hours, taking into account a balance between practical and theoretical experiences, with the aim of graduating distinguished and ambitious engineering students. The department has advanced laboratories containing equipment and machines in various fields of geotechnical engineering, geology, surveying, transportation and traffic engineering, pavement design, building materials, hydraulics, and water and wastewater engineering. These laboratories contribute to enriching the practical experience of students and help the department conduct research in various fields of civil engineering and infrastructure. The department also provides a stimulating environment for distinguished education. The department's graduates have joined local and regional jobs in labor markets and assumed leadership positions in their workplaces. The department obtained American accreditation (ABET) for the Civil Engineering and Infrastructure Program, and this accreditation continues until September 31, 2026. US accreditation ensures graduates of the Civil and Infrastructure Engineering program are prepared for a productive career in a rapidly changing world and encourages appreciation for leadership, professionalism and creativity. Graduates of the program are well prepared to provide engineering services to society with a high degree of professionalism that contribute to the dissemination of knowledge in civil engineering and infrastructure.

Achievements:
  • Local and International Academic Accreditation: The department has received local accreditation from the Jordanian Accreditation Commission, as well as international accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) since October 2018, which remains valid to this day. The program is also accredited by the Federation of Arab Engineers, further enhancing its professional recognition in Arab countries. These accreditations reflect the department's commitment to the highest standards of academic and professional quality and open up broad prospects for its graduates in local, regional, and interna

  • Graduating Qualified Engineers: The department has graduated civil engineers who have proven their competence in the local and regional labor markets, many of whom hold prestigious positions in both the public and private sectors.

  • Distinguished Graduation Projects: The department annually supervises creative graduation projects that address real-life infrastructure issues in Jordan, such as the design of bridges, dams, and water and sewage networks using modern and sustainable technologies. Students from the department have won several prestigious awards, most notably achieving top three places in the Jordan Engineers Association's Graduation Project Competition for several consecutive years, most recently winning second place in the 2025 edition of the competition.

  • Community and Professional Partnerships: The department has entered into cooperation agreements with engineering companies and government institutions to conduct field visits and practical training, and to strengthen students' connections to the labor market.

  • Scientific Research and Conference Participation: The department is committed to supporting scientific research by publishing distinguished research in the fields of civil engineering, such as sustainability, geotechnical engineering, transportation, and infrastructure project management. The department also played a major role in organizing an international conference on project management in collaboration with international academic and professional bodies, reflecting its academic standing and its ability to effectively contribute to the development of the construction and project management sector at the regional and global levels.
