Message

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Industrial Design at the College of Architecture and Design in the Jordanian Community. . Industrial design is an important academic and professional center where creativity, engineering and human-centered thinking meet to shape the future of product development. Industrial design specialization includes the creation of products that are not only functional and aesthetic, but also respond to the needs and behaviors of users, which include research, creation of ideas, prototypes, testing and improvement. Where students are taught how to deal with problems with rationality and analysis, with emphasis on practical projects that include topics in business environment, sustainable design, materials and manufacturing processes, and user experience design (UX). The department collaborates with industry partners, giving students the opportunity to work on projects in the real world, interact with professional designers, and participate in training. Advanced technologies such as 3D modeling, virtual reality (VR), computer-aided design, CAD, and rapid prototyping tools, including 3D printers, are not part of the learning experience. These technologies allow designers to visualize and test their ideas quickly to obtain quantitative and tangible results.

About :

The department was established in 2024, and the number of faculty members in it is 2 PhD holders, and 27 male and female students are currently studying in it. The Industrial Design Department is equipped with halls (studios) for practical courses and a hall for theoretical courses, in addition to a special studio for free drawing and a computer lab equipped with the programs required for the specialization and a modeling workshop and a virtual reality lab and a design and manufacturing center (the idea factory).
