Scientific Day in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan Hosts the Scientific Day for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Majali, and in the presence of Vice President Professor Dr. Tarek Al-Qarameh and the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Professor Dr. Ayesh Al-Hroub, Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized the Scientific Day for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The event was attended by several deans of faculties and faculty members. The Scientific Day featured a variety of innovative student projects presented by the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence within the Faculty of Science and Information Technology. The projects focused on fields such as robotics, data science, and artificial intelligence, offering creative solutions to real-life challenges, such as optimizing water consumption in agriculture, early fire detection, and recycling plastics into prosthetic limbs. Notably, some of these projects had competed in local competitions and achieved advanced positions. The event also included a specialized seminar presented by Quill Robotics, showcasing the latest applications of robotics and their ability to perform multiple tasks. At the conclusion of the event, an upcoming programming competition organized by the university's ACM branch was announced, scheduled to take place next Thursday. Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to the participating students and the organizing committee that contributed to the success of the event. The University President praised the advanced level of the students and their achievements in both local and international competitions. He emphasized that such activities reflect Al-Zaytoonah University’s commitment to fostering innovation and promoting a scientifically advanced environment in modern technological fields.


Crack The Code

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, the "Crack The Code" problem-solving competition, organized by the ACM Computing Club at the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, took place. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Ayesh Al-Hroub, the Head of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Department, Dr. Bilal Al-Hawashain, and a group of distinguished students. The competition, conducted according to the global ACM system, witnessed intense enthusiasm among participants, who tested their skills in programming and analytical problem-solving. The challenges ranged from complex algorithms to tasks requiring creative thinking and working under pressure. Dr. Janna Al-Ameisat, the team supervisor, praised the exceptional performance of the students and the high level of creativity and commitment they demonstrated during the competition. She also expressed pride in the success of this event, which represents a step toward organizing more activities aimed at developing students' computing skills at the university. At the conclusion of the competition, the winners were announced, and prizes and certificates of appreciation were distributed amid an atmosphere of pride and encouragement: First Place: Team Pioneers comprising Hamza Raba’, Malak Atef, and Shahd Abu Zaid. Second Place: Team BlackSec comprising Rakan Adnan, Ahmed Abu Zaid, and Fares Ja’bou. Third Place: Team Super Duper comprising Sadeq Ahmad, Mohammed Areeqat, and Mohammed Zarifa.


The TechTalk competition for technical communication in English

The Faculty of Science and Information Technology at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan concluded the TechTalk competition for technical communication in English, organized by the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, with outstanding participation from the faculty’s students. The competition aimed to enhance students’ scientific and technical communication skills in English and to enable them to deliver well-structured technical presentations aligned with the academic requirements of information technology disciplines. The event featured a variety of technical presentations from different departments within the faculty, evaluated by specialized judging committees against approved academic criteria. At the conclusion of the competition, the winning teams and participants were honored, reaffirming the role of such activities in developing learning outcomes and improving students’ linguistic and technical competencies.


The prestigious late Ali Al-Qaram Award for Best Graduation Project in Scientific Faculties

The Faculty of Science and Information Technology, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Ayesh Al-Haroub, extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the outstanding student team from the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence on winning the prestigious late Ali Al-Qaram Award for Best Graduation Project in Scientific Faculties. This well-deserved achievement was earned through their remarkable project, which focuses on the automatic classification of waste by type using artificial intelligence techniques, under the supervision of Dr. Bilal Hawashin and with the support of Dr. Janna Al-Amaishat. The project embodies our students’ vision of harnessing artificial intelligence to protect the environment and support the Sustainable Development Goals by reducing pollution and improving waste management efficiency. We are proud of you and of your efforts, which reflect the pioneering role of our university in fostering innovation and creativity in the service of society and the environment. The 2025 National Robotics Championship

The team from the Faculty of Science and Information Technology at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan achieved second place in the 2025 National Robotics Championship, organized by the Arab Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Association and hosted by the Applied Science Private University.This achievement was earned through the winning project “Your Move,” an educational and therapeutic innovation designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The project integrates real and virtual environments to provide an effective therapeutic and training setting, leveraging advanced technologies such as virtual reality and body motion tracking. This approach offers children a more interactive experience and supports the development of their educational and behavioral skills.The project was developed by a creative team of university students: Bashar Mohammad Muqaddam, Ahmad Khalaf Tamimi, Rashed Mousa Al-Khalidi, and Mazen Dimitri Qutainah, who embodied a strong spirit of innovation under the direct supervision and continuous support of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and its Head, Dr. Alaa Al-Zoubi, in addition to the outstanding technical follow-up provided by Mr. Yazan Abd Al-Ghani.The championship results placed Princess Sumaya University for Technology in first place, Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan in second place, and Applied Science Private University in third place.This accomplishment marks a new milestone in the university’s journey to support creativity and innovation, reinforcing its role in empowering students to develop technological solutions that serve society and advance education and scientific research.


Design Robot Parts Using Fusion

The Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, in cooperation with the Tech Agent team, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the course “Design Robot Parts Using Fusion,” comprising 30 training hours. The course was delivered by the outstanding student Saeed Montaser Abdulwahab, under the supervision of Mr. Yazan Abd Al-Ghani. The training focused on developing participants’ skills in 3D modeling and dimensioning, and also covered the fundamentals of robotic component design in Autodesk Fusion 360
