The First Scientific Day of Data Science & Artificial IntelligenceOn Tuesday, January 7, 2025, under the patronage of the esteemed University President, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Majali, the First Scientific Day of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the College of Science and Information Technology was inaugurated. Incubation of Two Projects from Teams of the Department of Data Science and Artificial IntelligenceThe Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence congratulates its students for the acceptance of two projects from its teams. The first project is RECO, presented by student Nada Abbas, and the second project is My Farm (مزرعتي), presented by students Laith Mustafa, Roua Raed, Mohamed Zalom, Saeed Muntasir, and Alaa Salama.
These two projects were selected among the top 100 projects in the 2024 Entrepreneurship Hackathon organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy. The projects will be incubated by the Ministry for six months.

The 2025 12th International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT 2025)The 2025 12th International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT 2025) will be held on 27th-30th May 2025 in Amman, Jordan. Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan is organizing this Conference in cooperation with the British Telecommunication (BT), BTIIC Innovation Centre, and Ulster University, UK and it is technically co-sponsored by IEEE. The Conference will bring together the top researchers worldwide to exchange their research results and address open issues in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Innovation Technologies, Software Engineering, Mathematical Modeling and Analysis, Computer Engineering and Multimedia. All papers must be written in English and will be reviewed by the technical committees of the Conference. All accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library as well as Scopus.

Al-Zaytoonah University Wins First Place in the Digital Solutions HackathonAl-Zaytoonah University Wins First Place in the 2024 Digital Solutions Hackathon for People with DisabilitiesAfter intense competition and various stages of elimination, the team from the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan secured first place in the 2024 Digital Solutions Hackathon for people with disabilities, sponsored by Orange Jordan.The team, consisting of student Nada Hamza Abbas (team leader), student Alaa Ibrahim Ben Tarif, and student Ammar Yaser Al-Haroun, under the supervision of Mr. Yazan Mahmoud Abdelghani, succeeded in developing an innovative idea aimed at designing prosthetic limbs using recycled materials to provide sustainable and creative solutions for people with disabilities.Dr. Bilal Hawashin, Head of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, expressed pride in this significant achievement and praised the teamwork and dedication demonstrated by the team in achieving this success. Crowning the Champion of the University Colleges Futsal ChampionshipThe team from the Faculty of Science and Information Technology was crowned the winner after defeating their opponents from the Faculty of Nursing in the final match of the University Colleges Futsal Championship. The match was exciting and full of enthusiasm, creating a lively and competitive sports atmosphere between the two teams.The match was attended by the university president, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Majali, who presented the trophy to the winning team. Al-Zaytoonah University Achieves a Remarkable Achievement in the Global Blackhat CompetitionAl-Zaytoonah University of Jordan achieved a significant milestone in the Global Blackhat Competition, where the Cybersecurity Department team from the Faculty of Science and Information Technology secured second place among Jordanian universities and 24th place globally out of 250 teams that advanced to the final stage.The competition was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 26 to 28, where the university was represented by student Ahmad Abu Zaid, under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Mansi. Another team from the university participated, with student Khaled Hemour securing 88th place globally, highlighting Al-Zaytoonah University’s excellence in the field of cybersecurity.The Blackhat Competition is one of the largest and most important global competitions in this field, providing an opportunity to compete with the best teams from around the world.

Ali Al-Qurm Award A New Shine for the College of Science and Information Technology
Dr. Iqbal Mohammad Radwan Batheeh has been awarded the Late Ali Al-Qurm Award at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, receiving the Distinguished Researcher Award in the fields of basic and applied sciences, in recognition of his outstanding activity and contributions to scientific research.
It is worth mentioning that this award is held annually and includes categories such as authoring, distinguished researcher, best master’s thesis, and best creative idea, with wide participation from researchers, authors, and students.

Student Sara Yasser Al-Afashat from the Software Engineering Department has won the Best Creative Idea Award for her project "Edu Swap," which is a project for exchanging school supplies.
It is worth mentioning that this award is held annually and includes categories such as authoring, distinguished researcher, best master's thesis, and best creative idea, with wide participation from researchers, authors, and students.
