    The First Scientific Day of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence

    On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, under the patronage of the esteemed University President, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Majali, the First Scientific Day of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the College of Science and Information Technology was inaugurated. This day included a series of events and activities highlighting the latest developments in the field of data science and artificial intelligence, in addition to presentations of outstanding student projects.




    Opening of the ACM Computing Club in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the College of Science and Information Technology, Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan.

    Amman, 2025/01/05, Opening of the ACM Computing Club in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the College of Science and Information Technology, Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan. The ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Computing Club was inaugurated with the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ayash Al-Hroub, the Head of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Bilal Hawashin, the heads of the college departments, and the supporters SIMERA and CoderzTech, along with a large number of students from the college. The ACM Club aims to provide an advanced educational environment that supports students in fields such as programming, problem-solving, and more, through organizing workshops and competitions that align with global standards. The opening ceremony included the announcement of the club's first competition, "Crack the Code," a problem-solving competition held according to the global ACM system. The club supervisor, Dr. Jana Al-Amishat, announced the competition, emphasizing that it is a unique opportunity for students to test their skills and enhance their abilities in analytical thinking and programming. In his speech during the opening, Professor Dr. Ayash Al-Hroub highlighted the importance of the club in honing students' skills and preparing them for the growing demands of the job market in the technology sector. Dr. Bilal Hawashin also emphasized the club's vital role in fostering creativity and discovering and developing talents.




    Hour of Code Competition - Problem Solving Competition

    The iTeam organized the "Hour of Code" competition at the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, under the supervision of students Sadiq Al-Sayed and Mohammad Zreifa. The event saw impressive participation from 22 teams, consisting of 65 students, who competed in solving a series of programming challenges. This competition is an important opportunity for students to test their programming skills in a competitive environment. 14 teams managed to solve at least one problem, while two teams successfully solved three complete problems, reflecting the level of challenge and creativity fostered by such events. Participants expressed their satisfaction with the smooth running of the competition, praising the professional supervision provided by the iTeam, which ensured the event was conducted efficiently and in an organized manner. The competition also served as a platform to enhance the spirit of competition among students, motivating them to improve their programming and problem-solving skills. This event is part of the ongoing efforts by the iTeam to organize technical activities that support student education and contribute to the development of their academic and professional skills.




    Seminar for the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

    The Department of Software Engineering organized an introductory seminar for the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, showcasing and presenting graduation project incubation opportunities for students specializing in Software Engineering, under the supervision of Dr. Wael Al-Zyadat, Head of the Department of Software Engineering. The event took place in Azmi Al-Madi Auditorium on Monday, November 25, 2024.Professor Dr. Aysh Alhroob, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, highlighted the efforts of the students participating in the seminar and reviewed with them the best academic plans provided by the university and the opportunities they could take advantage of in the job market through their knowledge and leadership.




    SheHacks competition

    Amman, November 25, 2024 – A group of students from the Cybersecurity Department at Al-Zaytoonah University participated in the SheHacks competition, which saw the participation of 54 teams from various universities and educational institutions across Jordan. After intense competition and advanced cybersecurity tests, the team achieved second place, reflecting their high skills and ability to excel in this critical technological field. The team included students: Mais Hussein, Bayan Zaitoun, Rahaf Al-Hanfi, and Banan Abu Qudoom, who showcased their creativity in overcoming complex security challenges and demonstrated that they are among the leading talents in the cybersecurity field. This achievement highlights the ability of Al-Zaytoonah University students to compete in top-tier technical competitions both locally and internationally. This achievement marks an important step in developing the skills of cybersecurity students at the university, reflecting the academic and training excellence provided by the department. We congratulate the students on this success and wish them further achievements in the future.




    “Soft Skills” Workshop

    Amman, November 24, 2024 – “Soft Skills” Workshop Organized by the iTeam at the College of Science and Information Technology The iTeam at the College of Science and Information Technology organized a workshop titled “Soft Skills,” which focused on communication and networking skills. The workshop was presented by "Montaser Al-Raqab," one of the active members of the team. Fourteen students from various disciplines participated in the workshop, where they explored key skills that help in building strong networks and enhance effective communication in work environments. The workshop lasted for two hours and included several interactive activities that helped participants develop their skills in a practical and effective manner. This workshop is part of a series of events that the iTeam organizes to develop the skills of students and graduates in order to meet the demands of the job market.

    Amman, November 18, 2024 – Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science and Information Technology, Professor Dr. Ayesh Al-Haroub, the Cybersecurity Department at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized the launch event for the Google Developers Group (GDG) Forum on campus. The event included an opening speech by Professor Dr. Ayesh Al-Haroub and a speech by the supervising professor Dr. Adi Al-Dalahmeh, followed by several special activities in which the GDG Amman team participated. They shared their experiences and answered students' inquiries.

    Amman, November 8, 2024 – The College of Science and Information Technology Welcomes New Students Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science and Information Technology, Professor Dr. Ayesh Al-Haroub, and organized by the student team ITeam - ZUJ, the college held a welcoming event for new students, attended by department heads and faculty members. The Dean emphasized the importance of the success equation that combines desire, will, and ability, noting that the number of students at the college this year has exceeded 3,200. The Dean also announced new updates to the curriculum this year, including an increase in practical courses and the introduction of new courses such as Applied English, Entrepreneurship, and Project Planning, along with a training camp in collaboration with leading companies in the field. He also spoke about the importance of students' involvement in student teams to enhance their skills and expand their networks, praising the role of the ITeam in organizing the event and supporting new students. The Dean highlighted the achievements of students from various departments in the college and their success in different competitions. The Dean also announced the signing of cooperation agreements with several organizations, including Al-Hussein Technical University under the HTUx initiative, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and EC COUNCIL, to provide free training opportunities and globally recognized certificates. The event included a speech by Dr. Khaled Jaber, Director of the E-Learning Center, who presented the features of the new electronic system that supports learning with virtual reality and artificial intelligence technologies. In conclusion, Mr. Mohammad Naddaf, the Director of the Library, spoke about the advanced library services, encouraging students to make use of its diverse resources. Student Mahmoud Ghosheh also provided a summary of the activities and initiatives of the ITeam, which supports students academically and professionally through the activities, courses, and competitions organized by the team. We wish all students a successful and distinguished academic year.

    Visit of Mathematics Students from Al-Zaytoonah University to the Department of StatisticsMathematics students from Al-Zaytoonah University, under the coordination and leadership of Dr. Maysoun Qoussaini, recently paid a scientific visit to the Department of Statistics. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the statistical practices and methodologies used in data analysis, explore the information systems and technologies employed in extracting statistical data, and understand the role of mathematics in managing and enhancing these processes.The visit was both enjoyable and insightful, allowing students to recognize the importance of their field and its essential role in various operations managed by numerous organizations and institutions. It also highlighted the significance of engaging with the job market and responding to its demands.
