Admission Criteria and Conditions

Students are admitted to the university according to the following criteria:

The student must have a high school diploma or its equivalent and must meet the admission criteria established by the Jordanian Higher Education Council, which are:

  • A grade point average of 80% for Pharmacy and Engineering majors

  • A grade point average of 70% for Nursing and Physiotherapy

  • A grade point average of 65% for Law

  • A grade point average of 60% for all other majors.

    • High school students in the science stream: are allowed to study in all majors.

    • High school students in the science stream/medical field: are allowed to study in all majors.

    • High school students in the science stream/engineering field: are allowed to study in all majors except Pharmacy, Nursing, and Physiotherapy.

    • High school students in the science stream/pure science field: are allowed to study in all majors except Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and the College of Engineering.

    • High school students in the Literary and Sharia streams: They are allowed to study in the majors of the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Law, and the Multimedia Technology/Multimedia major, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Industrial Design.

    • High school students in the Information Management stream: They are allowed to study in the majors of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Business, and the Faculty of Law, and are allowed to study in the Multimedia Technology/Multimedia major, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Industrial Design.

    • High school students in the Comprehensive Health Education stream: They are allowed to study in the Faculty of Nursing, Physical Therapy, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Law, and are allowed to study in the Multimedia Technology/Multimedia major, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Industrial Design.

    • High school students in the Vocational streams: They are accepted in specific majors for each vocational stream, provided they study and pass the two additional subjects for the relevant vocational stream.


The colleges or majors to which students from vocational streams are eligible to apply for are determined as follows:
  • Industrial Stream: College of Engineering and Technology, College of Science and Information Technology, and College of Architecture and Design.

  • Commercial Stream and Hotel Stream: College of Arts and College of Business, Multimedia Technology/Multimedia, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Industrial Design.

  • Agricultural Stream: College of Science and Information Technology, Classroom Teacher, Graphic Design, Multimedia Technology/Multimedia, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Industrial Design.

  • Home Economics Stream: College of Arts, Multimedia Technology/Multimedia, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Industrial Design.


* Non-Jordanian students may be accepted as an exception to the GPA requirement, with a maximum of 15 points less than the permitted admission average,
provided they adhere to the high school stream.

* No Jordanian student holding another nationality may be granted an exception to the GPA requirement for enrolment in the majors offered at the university.
