• Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan Organizes Free Medical Day in Al-Muwaqqar DistrictAl-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized a comprehensive free medical day at Umm Batma Secondary School for Boys in Al-Muwaqqar District. The event was held in partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, and the University Health Center, along with a number of physicians from both the public and private sectors. The event took place on Friday, November 21, 2025, and was attended by the University's Vice President, Professor Dr. Tariq Al-Qarm, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Hasban, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Hassan Abu Al-Ruz, and the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Professor Dr. Samah Husni, in addition to several faculty and administrative staff members.The medical day witnessed a large turnout from residents of the area across all age groups. Medical staff provided a full range of free health services, including medical examinations, specialized consultations, and the distribution of medications, as well as health awareness sessions covering various topics. Some cases requiring more advanced care were referred to nearby health centers and hospitals to ensure they received appropriate treatment. The participating medical clinics offered a variety of services, including: diabetes screenings for men and women, blood pressure checks, blood tests, internal medicine, alternative medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy for men and women, specialized pediatric physiotherapy, orthopedics, cardiac surgery, general medicine, and dermatology. A total of 460 citizens were treated.Several specialists participated in the medical day, including: Dr. Ibrahim Al-Sharif (alternative medicine), Dr. Khaled Al-Akka (internal medicine), Dr. Rana Mufid Al-Kayali (family medicine), Dr. Hassan Al-Jawhari (neurology), Dr. Hassan Al-Qaisi (orthopedics), Dr. Ahmed Bazid (dentistry), Dr. Ali Abu Rumman (cardiac surgery), Dr. Muhannad Al-Zagha ​​(general medicine), and Dr. Maysoun Marai (dermatology).The physiotherapy clinic team, comprised of faculty members from the College of Applied Medical Sciences, and the blood pressure and diabetes screening team, made up of nursing students, also participated. They provided their services within a professional and organized environment that ensured high-quality care and a smooth service delivery for beneficiaries. This medical day was organized as part of Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan's efforts to enhance its social responsibility and solidify its role in serving the local community by providing high-quality healthcare services that contribute to raising health awareness and facilitating citizens' access to medical care. The organizers also affirmed that the university is committed to implementing such initiatives in various regions of the Kingdom, in line with its mission to support the health sector and promote a culture of volunteerism among its students, faculty, and medical staff.

  • The Department of Physical Therapy at the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences conducted a workshop at Ma'in Hot Springs entitled "The Role of Hydrotherapy in Improving Women's Health." The workshop aimed to raise awareness among attendees about the importance of physical therapy, particularly hydrotherapy, in preventing postpartum complications, reducing complications and illnesses in women during menopause, and encouraging natural childbirth in water. Students from the Department of Physical Therapy at Al-Zaytoonah University participated in the workshop, along with members of the local community and the Ministry of Health. A member of the Jordanian Parliament was also present. All attendees praised the effective participation of the Department of Physical Therapy at Al-Zaytoonah University and its role in spreading community awareness.

Rather, the Faculty interacts with the issues of society and its educational needs, and continuous guidance and consultation, through holding seminars and lectures in the field of physiotherapy specialization.The Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences has a role in serving the local community, through: Visiting the splints department at Al-Isra Hospital for an activity related to the material of splints and prostheses and a tour was made in the Department under the guidance of specialists.
