The Department of Basic Sciences (Humanities and Scientific) is one of the educational departments in the College of Arts, as it is entrusted with managing the file of the university’s compulsory and optional requirements in fulfilment of the university’s vision, which is keen to provide courses that meet the needs of students in all the university’s colleges by offering supportive courses for their various specializations in the human, scientific, social fields, And national education. The establishment of the Department of Basic Sciences (Humanities and Sciences) in the university came to achieve the vision of the university and the college, which targets the needs of the students to support courses and requirements for their different specializations in different colleges; As the department teaches basic scientific and practical courses such as Arabic language, English language, computer, national education, Islamic culture, human civilization, leadership, innovation, leadership, responsibility, life skills, curriculum and teaching methods, sports and health, law in our life, mathematics, differentiation, evolution, physics, chemistry, and life sciences for the students of applied scientific colleges; Engineering, medicine, information technology, nursing and science. The department aims to provide the students with the basic knowledge to develop the necessary human and scientific skills using modern teaching methods through online, electronic and blended teaching patterns, in order to support colleges in preparing graduates with knowledge, skills and value, as well as a local, regional and international presence, a motivation for long-lasting learning, and the ability to keep up with the requirements of the life . The Department of Basic Sciences (Humanities and Sciences) includes 28 faculty members of various scientific ranks and academic specialties, whom highly appreciated in their competence and knowledge in the fields of teaching and scientific research, in addition to a staff of experienced administrators.


About :

Established in 2019 under its current name, the Department of Basic Sciences (Humanities and Sciences) oversees the University’s mandatory and elective courses, in addition to other degree requirements of the Faculty of Arts. Teaching these foundational courses across the humanities and sciences is critical, as they instill the cultural values and ethical standards that profoundly shape students’ characters. From this lens, the Department’s curriculum constitutes a holistic program of guidance and awareness capable of cultivating principled individuals who can significantly impact society today and tomorrow. The pedagogical approaches emphasize analytical strategies to elucidate perspectives on contemporary issues and historical events, shaping a philosophical framework to guide students’ development as engaged citizens. The Department currently comprises 28 full-time faculty members who collectively publish 34 scholarly papers annually in peer-reviewed international journals. 11 members have presented research at international conferences to date .
