The department has excelled academically, achieving advanced results in the Higher Education Council exams, thanks to the efforts of its faculty members who are a select group of graduates from Arab, Malaysian, British, and American universities. The department’s graduates have also proven their excellence in various fields of work, both in the public and private sectors. The department offers a comprehensive cultural program, including faculty discussion sessions, public lectures, and various cultural competitions for students. Due to the high demand for the department's programs, the Evening Studies Program in English Language/Translation was established in 1998. The department always strives to achieve excellence by providing high-quality higher education that meets global standards. Currently, the department has 15 faculty members, and there are 659 students enrolled. Since the program's inception, 34 students have graduated in Literature, and 116 in Translation, including 12 holding master's degrees. The faculty’s research output averages 18 published articles annually in peer-reviewed international journals, with 2 papers presented at international conferences to date.

The Department of English Language was established on 6/9/1993, and its first cohort graduated in July 1997. The department offers the following academic programs: 1. Bachelor's program in English Language/Literature. 2. Bachelor's program in English Language/Translation. 3. Master's program in English Language/Literature. The department has excelled academically, achieving advanced results in the examinations of the Higher Education Council due to the efforts of its faculty members, who are elite graduates of Arab, Malaysian, British, and American universities. Graduates of the department have also demonstrated excellence in both the public and private sectors. The department offers a comprehensive cultural program, including faculty discussion sessions, public lectures, and various student cultural competitions. Due to the high demand for enrollment in the department's programs, an Evening Studies program specializing in English Language/Translation was established in 1998. The department consistently strives for excellence by offering high-quality higher education by global standards. Currently, the department has “15” faculty members and enrolls 659 students. “34” students have graduated from the literature program, while “116” have graduated from the Translation program, including “12” with master's degrees. The average research output for faculty members is “18” published articles annually in peer-reviewed international journals and “2” participants in international conferences.

  • The English Language Program in Translation/Literature 2024 has been established.1

  • The Applied English Language Program 2024 has been introduced: The new Applied English Language program for 2024 has been launched to enhance students' skills and meet the needs of the job market.

  • Participation of English Department students in the English Language Olympiad for Universities 2024: The students of the English Department participated in the English Language Olympiad for Universities in 2024, and the university achieved 4th place globally.

  • Attracting a distinguished group of English language professors: A distinguished group of English language professors has been recruited, led by Professor Dr. Rashid Al-Jarrah, to enhance the educational process in the department.

  • English Language Day 2024: The "English Language Day" of 2024 was organized, showcasing the students' English language skills in a remarkable and impressive manner.
