The Applied English Language Program at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan is a modern academic program within the Department of English, established in 2024 in response to the growing need to prepare graduates with advanced applied language skills that meet the demands of the labor market. The program aims to develop students’ linguistic and communicative competencies by focusing on the four core language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), in addition to strengthening their knowledge in linguistics, grammar, and language studies. It also integrates theoretical and practical components, offering a variety of courses in linguistics, literature, and discourse analysis, alongside specialized courses in English for specific purposes such as business, media, tourism, diplomacy, technology, law, and healthcare.
