    Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organizes a free medical day in Al-Muwaqar District

    The Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized a comprehensive free medical day at the Um Batma Secondary School for Boys in Al-Muwaqar district, with the participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, and the University Health Center, along with a number of doctors from the public and private sectors. The event took place on Friday, November 21, 2025, in the presence of the Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Tariq Al-Qirim, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Ala Alhusban, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Hassan Abu Al-Raz, and the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Samah Hosni, in addition to a number of faculty and administrative staff members. The medical day witnessed a large turnout from people of all ages in the region, with medical staff providing a comprehensive range of free health services, including medical examinations, specialist consultations, and distribution of medicines, as well as health awareness sessions in various fields. Some cases that required advanced care were referred to nearby health centers and hospitals to ensure they received appropriate treatment. The participating medical clinics offered a variety of services, including diabetes screenings for men and women, blood pressure checks, blood tests, internal medicine, alternative medicine, dentistry, physical therapy for men and women, specialized physical therapy for children, orthopedics, cardiac surgery, general medicine, and dermatology. A total of 460 citizens attended the clinic. A number of specialist doctors participated in the medical day, including Dr. Ibrahim Al-Sharif (alternative medicine), Dr. Khaled Al-Aka (internal medicine), Dr. Rana Mufid Al-Kayali (family medicine), Dr. Hassan Al-Jawhari (neurology and neurosurgery), Dr. Hassan Al-Qaisi (orthopedics), Dr. Ahmed Bazid (dentistry), Dr. Ali Abu Raman (cardiac surgery), Dr. Muhannad Al-Zaghah (general medicine), and Dr. Maysoon Marai (dermatology). The physical therapy clinic team from the faculty of applied medical sciences and the blood pressure and diabetes screening team from the nursing college also participated, providing their services in a professional setting that ensured quality care and smooth service delivery to beneficiaries. This medical day was organized as part of Jordanian Zaytouna University's efforts to strengthen its social responsibility and consolidate its role in serving the local community by providing quality health services that contribute to raising health awareness and facilitating citizens' access to medical care. The organizers of the event also confirmed that the university will continue to implement such initiatives in various regions of the Kingdom, in line with its mission to support the health sector and promote a culture of volunteerism among its students and academic and medical staff.

    The Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Zaytoonah University in Jordan organized an awareness day entitled “Be Aware,” during which seven health topics were presented, including: polycystic ovary syndrome, breast cancer, diabetes, blood pressure, vitamins, stomach health, and skin care. This day was organized as part of the faculty's efforts to raise students' health awareness and enhance their ability to make informed health choices. The participating students presented simplified and practical scientific content, focusing on the indicators, symptoms, and factors associated with each topic, as well as offering preventive advice to support the adoption of a healthy lifestyle. This activity highlighted the ability of college students to transform academic knowledge into clear and easy-to-understand awareness messages. The event witnessed a remarkable turnout from university students, who actively participated in asking questions and engaging in constructive dialogues on the health issues raised.     Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan participates in an international program (Bio-Metric) funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

    The Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, represented by Vice President Prof. Dr. Tariq Al-Qirm and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Ala Alhusban, participated in an international program supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), offering a multidisciplinary educational course in the field of regenerative medicine, in addition to joint research collaboration on the use of natural compounds in identifying biological tissues. The program is based on a scientific partnership that brings together academic expertise from Jordan, Germany, and Tunisia, through collaboration between the University of Giessen in Germany, Al-Zaytoonah University in Jordan, the University of Jordan, and the University of Sfax in Tunisia. The program covers a wide range of topics including biomaterials, scaffold engineering, integration of natural compounds and products, molecular farming, design thinking, and regulatory aspects, with the aim of strengthening regional and international capacities in the fields of regenerative biomedical innovation, with a focus on sustainability and practical applications. During the six-month program, a variety of interactive lectures were presented to 45 graduate students from participating universities, who received a diploma from the University of Giessen at the end of the program. A select group of students and faculty members were also trained at the Institute for Experimental Trauma Surgery at the University of Giessen. Prof. Al-Qirm and Prof. Alhusban participated in the program's closing conference at the University of Giessen, where the latest scientific research in the field of regenerative medicine and the use of biomaterials to support bone and injury healing was presented. The delegation also reviewed the latest research equipment at medical, pharmaceutical, and microbiological research institutes, in addition to visiting the university's teaching and research hospital.




    Field visit to Dar Al Dawa Company

    The Faculty of Pharmacy organized a field trip to Dar Al-Dawa Company for fifth-year students with the participation of Dr. Ahmed Bahlool, Dr. Osama Abu sara, pharmacist Yasmin Al-Adhami, and pharmacist Hadeel Abu Mahfouz on Thursday, November 13, 2025. During the visit, a workshop on GMP was held, and student Anas Al-Namrouti organized an introductory tour for his colleagues inside the production department, with the aim of introducing them to the department's facilities and work mechanisms, and giving them the opportunity to learn about the production environment in a practical and direct way, which enhances the practical aspect for students and allows them to learn about the work environment in the pharmaceutical industry. The Dean of the College of Pharmacy thanked the management of Dar Al-Dawa and the work team for their warm welcome and organization, as well as the faculty and administrative staff for their role in making the visit a success.




    First place for Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan at the Creative Student Forum at Nizwa University, Sultanate of Oman

    Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan won first place in the scientific creativity and innovation category at the 26th Creative Student Forum, held at Nizwa University in Oman from November 1-6, 2025, for student Laith Khalid Qais from the Faculty of Pharmacy, under the supervision of Dr. Fadi Ghassan Saqa Allah. Dr. Ahmad Al-Aboushi, Director of the International Relations Office and the University's representative to the Arab Council for Student Training and Creativity, explained that the University participated in 12 of the 180 research papers submitted by 36 universities representing nine Arab countries, with five research papers reaching the final stages, the largest number among Arab universities. He also pointed out that the other four research papers submitted by university students were ranked among the top ten research papers in the areas of scientific creativity and innovation and artistic and literary creativity.     The Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Zaytoonah University organizes a scientific lecture at the British International Academy

    On November 13, 2025, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a scientific lecture entitled “Genetics,” targeting a number of students at the British International Academy, as part of the faculty's efforts to promote scientific awareness and link the academic side with modern scientific applications in the field of genetics and mutations. The lecture included a series of interactive activities presented by students of the Faculty of Pharmacy under the supervision of Dr. Razan Abu Jaber, covering topics such as the structure and function of DNA, genetic mutations and their types, ethics of gene therapy, nitrogen base sequencing in DNA, and an interactive activity that included a presentation of facts about DNA.     The role of a pharmacist in promoting a healthy lifestyle

    The Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized a distinctive awareness initiative entitled" The role of a pharmacist in promoting a healthy lifestyle", targeting students of a number of schools, including the academy and schools of al-Farouk visions and schools of celebrities for science and knowledge, within the framework of the faculty's endeavor to spread health awareness and introduce students to the basics of integrated healthy life and healthy daily habits that contribute to maintaining their health and vitality. The initiative included a series of interactive lectures presented by students of the Faculty of Pharmacy under the supervision of Dr. Rawan Huwaitat and Dr. Razan Abu Jaber, during which they addressed basic health topics such as the importance of adequate sleep and its role in promoting concentration and proper growth, the harms of energy drinks and their impact on the nervous system and the heart, in addition to the importance of balanced nutrition in strengthening immunity and maintaining physical and mental activity. During the meetings, they also highlighted the proper health habits to be followed, while alerting to the wrong practices that may negatively affect the health of students and their daily behavior. This initiative comes as part of the continuous efforts of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan to enhance the community role of the pharmacist and spread the health culture among various groups of society, and to consolidate the concept of health awareness as one of the components of a balanced life.     Proper Handling of Narcotic Drugs and Controlled Preparations and the Instructions Issued in This Regard

    The Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, in cooperation with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), organized a specialized scientific seminar entitled “Proper handling of narcotic drugs and controlled substances and the instructions issued in this regard”. The seminar was presented by Dr. Sawsan Al-Azzam and Dr. Susan Abu Nabaa from the Department of Control of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursor Chemicals at the SFDA, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy Dr. Ala Al-Husban, Vice Dean Dr. Mohammad Al-Wahsh, members of the teaching and administrative staff, and students. The seminar dealt with the tasks and responsibilities of the pharmacist responsible for narcotic substances in pharmaceutical institutions, and the laws, regulations, instructions and bases issued accordingly, emphasizing the importance of applying them accurately. The seminar also explained the legislation governing the work of pharmacies with regard to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, clarified the import instructions for these substances and the procedures followed, in addition to explaining the role of the pharmacist in dealing with medicines according to the degree of control imposed on them, and a comprehensive review of relevant Jordanian laws and regulations, including procedures for monitored medicines. At the end of the seminar, all questions and inquiries were answered.




    Food Safety Excellence: An Overview of ISO 22000:2018 Standards and Implementation

    The Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized a scientific seminar titled “Excellence in Food Safety: An Overview of ISO 22000:2018”, presented by Prof. Dr. Nada Al-Durra from Beirut Arab University. The seminar focused on the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) standards released in 2018, which focuses on updating occupational health and safety management standards to improve risk management and provide a safe food environment. It also addressed how to apply these standards, which are considered a global reference in the fields of quality, environment, health and safety.It also touched on the corrective and preventive measures implemented during the audit, the prerequisites required to obtain an ISO certificate, as well as the risks that must be avoided in the transportation and supply of food to avoid contamination or exposure to bacteria that may affect the safety of food.The seminar was an important opportunity to interact and exchange knowledge among the attendees on the importance of applying these standards in various food industries.
