• To recommend to the University Council of Deans the introduction, suspension, or cancellation of any graduate program at the university

  • Preparing draft regulations related to graduate studies affairs.

  • Preparing the required forms for graduate studies.

  • Recommending to the Council of Deans on issues related to graduate students’ academic affairs.

  • Submitting recommendations to the University Curriculum Committee regarding new or revised study plans.

  • Verifying that graduate students have fulfilled all graduation requirements and submitting a recommendation to the Council of Deans for their graduation.

  • Monitoring the evaluation of the teaching process in graduate studies and submitting periodic report results to the University President.

  • Submitting recommendations to the Council of Deans regarding amendments to the regulations governing graduate studies.

  • Preparing the annual budget proposal for the Deanship.

  • Considering matters referred to it by the Dean or the President of the University.

  • Approving the research proposal plans submitted by graduate students in the university’s faculties.

  • Endorsing the selection of supervisors for graduate research theses.

  • Approving the formation of thesis defense committees and setting the dates for thesis defenses.

  • Submitting recommendations to the Council of Deans for the awarding of academic degrees.

  • Approving the formation of comprehensive examination committees and ratifying their results.
