Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan hosts Arab Children’s literature Seminar

Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan hosted the Iraqi critic Professor, Mohammed Saber to present a seminar entitled “Arab Children’s literature Identity Problem”, moderated by Dr. Sabha Alkam an Associate  Professor in The Arabic Language Department.

Obaid explained that children’s literature has a comprehensive distinctive feature on many levels, for instance with regards to the theme level it requires an intelligent author who is specialized in children literature.

He added that the value  of literature depends on the age groups since every age group has it is own convenient literature, thus, what is written in children literature has different characteristics than that in the adult’s literature in terms of  language , image, rhythm, vision and methodology.

Obaid stressed that the child stands for the civilization of our future society; he called for the establishment of a cultural institution that is concerned with innovations that target children and their assessment.
