Meeting students in the Sirian Security Department

The Department of Cybersecurity at the College of Science and Information Technology held a meeting for students majoring in cybersecurity with faculty members, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Amjad Zureikat, head of the department, Dr. Hani Al-Mimi. In this meeting, the new students were welcomed. Introducing the department to new students and explaining some of the rights and duties of students. New and old students answered any inquiry.

 


 

Cyber Warriors Competition

Students of the Department of Cybersecurity from Al-Zaytoonah University participated in the Cyber Warriors Competition sponsored by the National Center for Cybersecurity and Al-Hussein Technical University. This tournament aims to encourage young people to practice their hobbies in ethical hacking and cybersecurity in a safe environment. This participation is the first of its kind, as several teams participated in this competition at different levels (beginner level / advanced level). The championship was held over two consecutive days, including 35 challenges. 750 male and female cyber warriors submitted to it, while 200 participants qualified, forming 65 teams, and representing more than twenty universities and schools across the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Team ZeroOne participated from Al-Zaytouna, which was ranked in the advanced category and was ranked sixteenth based on points. It should be noted that the team consisted of Hassan Al-Khafaji, Ahmed Abu Zaid, and Rakan Dawood.


 

Career path lecture in cyber security

A lecture entitled (Cybersecurity Career Roadmap: Zero to Hero) was held
In the Faculty of Science and Information Technology – Department of Cyber Security. A cybersecurity consultant and expert, Eng delivered it. Muhammad Al-Khraisha. It should be noted that the engineer won the award for the best Arab influencer in the field of information security as well. The symposium was attended by a number of faculty members and students from all levels. The seminar dealt with many important topics in the field of cybersecurity where the lecturer talked about the concept of cybersecurity and its importance. Then about cybersecurity tracks and how to specialize in them, as well as explain the skills that a cybersecurity expert should have. He also talked about the international certificates that a student must obtain in order to qualify to work in the field of cybersecurity and presented several important sources that contain useful information in the field of cybersecurity. And he indicated the importance of the student’s readiness during his study period through training, participation in scientific competitions, and obtaining international certificates in the field of cybersecurity. At the end of the lecture, the engineer answered all the questions of the students and the audience.


 

Latex lecture

The Department of Cybersecurity at Al-Zaytoonah University held a lecture entitled Latex, delivered by Mr. Abdullah Al-Hiyari from the Department of Cybersecurity. The lecture was attended by a number of faculty members and master’s students. It was a practical lecture on how to use latex. How to do a search using latex and what features it provides were discussed.

About 50 students from the cybersecurity major at the Faculty of Science and Information Technology at Al-Zaytoonah University participated in an interactive scientific visit to the Cybercrime Unit in the Criminal Investigation Department.
The student delegation met with Colonel Bassem Pasha Al-Ajrami, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Major Abdul-Hadi Beik Al-Tahat, Head of the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit, and Captain Ahmed Beik Al-Adwan, where Major Abdul-Hadi Beek Al-Tahat gave a practical explanation as part of an awareness lecture for students, enriching their studies on the importance of security.
