The Department of Arabic Language and Literature is dedicated to creating an optimal educational environment, engaging in both curricular and extracurricular activities, and prioritizing research to serve the local community.

 

Objectives:

  1. Ensure the transmission of the Arabic language legacy to future generations through ongoing research and fostering a culture of scholarly inquiry.
  2. Actively organize and participate in seminars and conferences to further academic discourse.
  3. Continuously update study plans to meet the standards of quality education.
  4. Provide ongoing training in research methodologies and academic investigation.
  5. Enhance students’ scientific, intellectual, and critical thinking abilities.
  6. Fortify connections with the local community by hosting seminars and undertaking scientific studies.


The Department of Arabic Language and Literature was inaugurated at Al Zaytoonah University of Jordan in 1993. The inaugural cohort of students graduated on July 10, 1997.

  1. Apply syntactic (structural) rules proficiently in both writing and speaking.
  2. Understand linguistic aspects and their respective fields.
  3. Identify and comprehend the historical progression of ancient Arabic literature.
  4. Analyze short story patterns and delineate the characteristics of this literary form.
  5. Equip students with the ability to appreciate rhetoric in Arabic literature and recognize its uniqueness.
  6. Review the history of Arabic Islamic Civilization and highlight its significant contributions.
  7. Identify key heritage sources in language and literature and utilize them effectively.
