The establishment of the Department of English Language coincided with the foundation of the university in 1993. It currently includes (619) students, in both literature and translation programs. There are also 33 master’s students majoring in English literature. There are fifteen faculty members with doctorate and master’s degrees in their fields of specialization from prestigious international universities. The Department has two bachelor’s degree programs in literature and translation in addition to a master’s degree in literature.

  • Core and compulsory theoretical areas: research methods in Literature, literary styles, history of English literature, literature and language, and American literature and other literature.

  • Opportunities and fields of work: public schools and private sector schools, media institutions, television and radio stations, magazines and newspapers, tourism offices, and international agencies and organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation
